Postdoctoral Teaching Opportunities
Postdoctoral scholars (PDS) have opportunities to teach within their department or related units, including arranging guest lectures with faculty members. Teaching workshops, online resources and conferences are available to gain pedagogical training.
According to the Postdoctoral Scholars Policy, postdoctoral scholars can undertake teaching responsibilities, with prior agreement from supervising faculty, of up to one full course per term.

If you're a postdoctoral scholar with some teaching experience, consider joining us for Graduate Teaching and Learning (Level 3), an intensive course offered this fall by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
GTL-3 provides a creative, collegial environment to discuss teaching and explore approaches to course design and classroom pedagogy.
The course is open to postdoctoral scholars, master’s students and PhD students. For more information, contact the instructor, Dr. Rob Desjardins, at robertd1@ualberta.ca.
Graduate Teaching and Learning Program
Postdoctoral scholars are encouraged to participate in the Graduate Teaching and Learning program (GTL). Though transcript notation isn't available, postdoctoral scholars can receive a completion letter for each level achieved.
