On Campus Mission
Our mission is to provide the opportunity for individuals who have been labeled moderately to severely developmentally disabled to participate in an adult continuing-education program at the University of Alberta.
Focusing on inclusion in both formal and informal university and employment settings, this program affords opportunities to develop friendships/relationships, provides meaningful experiences, increases self-esteem and promotes self-actualization, and nurtures employment potential.
Personal supports are developed through classmates, coworkers, volunteers and friends, allowing for inclusion to happen organically. Operating under the principles of Social Role Valorization and integration/inclusion, the program ensures the provision of enriching educational experiences in order to promote personal and career achievements.
