1-on-1 writing appointments
One-on-one appointments to help undergraduate and graduate students improve or enhance their academic and professional writing. Peer tutors provide feedback on assignments, course papers, lab reports, and scholarship applications. Writing advisors provide verbal and written feedback on a range of documents, including course papers, thesis chapters, letters of intent, grant proposals, publications, and some career materials. Students can choose an in-person or remote appointment. Students can conveniently book appointments through WCONLINE. Students have the option to share documents in advance. When providing feedback, staff focus on argument, organization, and clarity. Advisors can also provide feedback to improve writing routines and reduce writing burnout. Staff do not proofread, but they will identify grammatical and mechanical patterns and provide options for how writers could revise a select example.
