Discounted access to public transit (U-Pass)
Service offered by U of A Students' Union (UASU)
The U-Pass Program provides eligible students with affordable, unlimited access to public transit across Edmonton and neighbouring municipalities. Launched in 2007 by UASU in partnership with GSA and SAMU, the program offers a negotiated flat rate to protect students from rising transit costs. The U-Pass is integrated with the Arc Card fare system. Students must purchase an Arc Card, register it on the U-Pass App, and tap on/off transit. Students who already have an Arc Card can continue using the same card if they are assessed and paying the U-Pass fee through Bear Tracks. Students who believe they are eligible but were not assessed the fee may opt in through the Office of the Registrar.
U-Pass fee assessed through tuition (flat rate negotiated annually).
Arc Card purchase cost (if student does not already have one.)
