High performance computers

Whether you are processing large quantities of data or rendering complex graphic files, you may want to consider the high performance computers at the Digital Scholarship Centre (DSC) in Cameron Library. These computers are equipped with specialized research and digital scholarship software for data analysis, digital humanities projects and computational research. Access is available to University of Alberta students, researchers, faculty and staff. All computer time must be booked in advance. Computers can be used in person at the DSC or accessed remotely through secure remote desktop connections. Remote users must install Cisco AnyConnect VPN and Microsoft Remote Desktop and will receive custom login credentials after their booking is confirmed. Some software may only be available for in-person use.

How to Access

  1. Computer time must be booked in advance.
  2. Requests can be made in person at the DSC Service Desk (2-20 Cameron Library), or by email: dsc.library@ualberta.ca.
  3. For remote access, users must install Cisco AnyConnect VPN and Microsoft Remote Desktop. Custom login credentials will be provided by the DSC after the booking is confirmed.
