Individual therapy (single session)

Individual One-At-A-Time Therapy (OAATT) provides students with quick access to individual therapy focused on addressing a specific concern or goal. Designed as a single 50-minute session, OAATT helps students get unstuck and leave with a clear, practical plan for next steps. Sessions are delivered by registered psychologists and clinical social workers using a strengths- and skills-based approach. OAATT is well suited for present- or future-focused concerns such as stress, decision-making, relationship issues, or life transitions. While many students find one session sufficient, additional sessions or referrals to other campus and community resources are available if needed.

What to Expect

OAATT offers reliable, timely access to a single-session therapy appointment with qualified clinicians, providing focused support and clear next steps. Appointments are available year-round, with new times opening daily, and students are expected to complete pre-session requirements, attend as scheduled, and actively engage in the session.

Sessions follow four phases:

  1. Preparation: Pre-session reflection on concerns, strengths, and goals
  2. Goal Setting: Identify a realistic, attainable outcome for the session
  3. Exploration: Develop next steps using skills, strengths, and resources
  4. Action: Leave with a clear plan to implement after the session
CCS services are in high demand, with requests for service out pacing capacity, so students can expect that it might take multiple attempts over a few days to book an OAATT session.
