Psychological support for sexual assault
The Sexual Assault Psychological Support service, delivered through the University of Alberta Sexual Assault Centre, provides confidential, trauma-informed psychological support to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. The service offers drop-in and same-day crisis intervention, individual counselling, group counselling, and psychoeducational supports provided by qualified clinician and psychologists. Grounded in feminist, anti-oppressive, intersectional, and person-centred approaches, the Centre supports people of all genders, sexualities, and backgrounds. In addition to direct care, the Centre works closely with campus and community partners to support survivor-centred options navigation, education, prevention, and the creation of a safer, violence-free campus community.
