Scanning at the Library

Access flatbed and book scanners across library locations to digitize documents, images, and books. You can quickly scan materials using self-service stations and save files to email, cloud storage or USB. High-speed book scanners allow easy, face-up scanning without damaging materials. For more advanced scanning needs, a high-resolution Digitization Station is available by booking at the Digital Scholarship Centre (DSC). Instructions are provided at each station, and staff are available to assist. If you need a scan of a book chapter or print journal article that is held in the University of Alberta Library collection, we also offer on-demand digitization.

How to Access

Visit a library with scanning equipment to use the flatbed or book scanner.
Book the Digitization Station to scan larger format or higher resolution items including print materials, photographs, slides and negatives.
Request scanned or digital copies of print materials from the U of A Library collection.
