Sexual Health Services at the University Health Centre (UHC) support the sexual health and overall well-being of the U of A community through inclusive, confidential, and respectful care. Services are available to individuals of all genders, identities, orientations, and abilities, and UHC is a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQI2+ individuals.
Care includes sexual health counselling, STI testing and treatment, urine pregnancy and UTI testing, contraception counselling and prescriptions, Pap tests and pelvic exams, HPV education and vaccination, and testicular exams. UHC physicians and nurses provide evidence-based guidance to help patients make informed decisions, practice safer sex, prevent infections, and maintain reproductive and sexual health across all stages of life.
Patients can expect clear communication and respectful treatment, and are expected to attend appointments and actively engage in their care.
