China Scholarship Council (CSC) Funded Internships
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) supports undergraduate students from Double First-Class Initiative universities in China to conduct research at UAlberta under the supervision of faculty members who are experts in their field.
Internships are 3 calendar months in duration and typically take place from early July through early October. While exact internship dates are somewhat dependent on the flexibility of the supervising professor, the earliest possible internship start date for CSC 2027 will be May 1, 2027.

How to Apply (for Student Participants)
Host an Intern (for U of A Faculty Members)
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) provides full financial support for up to 30 students from eligible Chinese universities to participate in research projects at the University of Alberta. Students gain hands-on, practical experience in their academic discipline. U of A faculty members gain an eager young researcher on their team who brings their talents to apply to the research project as they train and further develop their skills.
Please note that prospective student applicants are being informed before the student application period for the 2027 cycle that should they be selected to receive this scholarship, they are committing to an internship start date that falls sometime between May 1-December 15, 2027. Of course, the 3-month research internship start date within that date range must also be agreeable to their U of A host professor. Even if the host professor is available to accommodate a start date before May 1, the internship program is unable to, due to the required immigration procedures often taking longer than the quoted IRCC processing timelines that appear at the time of application submission. Thank you for your understanding.
